Well that was a very fun weekend! 70 Plein air artists descended on the lovely villages of Elora and Fergus this past weekend. Thanks to the organizers.. the venue for the show .. the old friends we hung out with and the new friends we made.

I am looking forward to leading a class in Plein Air Painting at the Blue Mountain School Of Landscape Painting.

I have had a bit of fun this past half year picking up the smaller brushes and finding some interesting subjects to tackle. In particular I enjoy researching some of the older buildings around this area of Ontario as well as sourcing photos from years and years ago for reference. Learning about some of the history of the area is a bonus for sure. As I spend time painting the scenes I also spend time imagining what was happening at that point in time – the stories behind the paintings.

Chris and I have pretty well completed our relocation to the outskirts of Walters Falls ON.   Our home and shop are built – landscaping has begun … and our doors are once again OPEN for Business.    Take a look at some of what we have been up to through our website  www.oldsoul.ca.

Life has settled down quite a bit from last years frenzy – selling our home and business in Elora and building and developing our new abode in the Grey Highlands.   I am back in the studio painting/creating full time – it is wonderful.  I have started to accept commissions again —  so if you have a special scene or a subject that you would like to see replicated/interpreted  – send along your ideas or pictures and I’d be happy to create a piece just for you.

The Booty  – I Love PIE

Hey There —  Chris and I and Hazel  as well as Old Soul are on the move to the Grey Highlands! We are building on the outskirts of metropolitan Walters Falls (population– ~ 68) — Apparently “all roads lead to Walters Falls” and thankfully it is also “eleven miles from everywhere”. When we are finished building & in operation we will definitely let you know exactly where we are living and creating — until then – let’s connect in cyberspace. Keep well — 

It’s time again to try something different –  a New Groove – Shall we say?  Using some of our “furniture” paint – Benny Moore Aura – I have started a new series of paintings.  I am still trying to use up old canvases and plywood that we have stashed away — getting as much mileage as I can out of stuff… keeping them out of the land fill or burn pile just a little bit longer.
